BioShea Kerkhoff taught high school English for 7 years, including North Carolina and District of Columbia Public Schools. Currently, she is Assistant Professor of Literacy and Secondary Education at University of Missouri-St. Louis in the Department of Educator Preparation and Leadership. Before this, she was the Visiting Assistant Professor of English Education at Purdue University with a joint appointment in the departments of English and Curriculum and Instruction where she was also Assistant Editor of the NCTE journal English Education. Globally, she serves as Going Global, Inc.'s Education Director. She earned her Ph.D. at North Carolina State University under the direction of Dr. Hiller A. Spires, Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in literacy. Passionate about her research -- including adolescent literacy, global literacy, and digital literacy -- Shea is a lifelong learner who strives to instill a love of learning into her students.
